Membership

The Stoneham Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union proudly serves the municipal employees of the Towns of Stoneham, Wilmington, North Reading and Middleton.  Membership is also open to members of the "Friends of the Stoneham Public Library", students of the Stoneham Public School system, and employees of local businesses approved by the Board of Directors.

Once you become a member of the Credit Union, you are a member for life, regardless of your employment or residence.  Membership is also extended to immediate family members and household residents. 


Becoming a Member  

To open an account, please pick up an application at our Main Office in Stoneham, our branch in Wilmington, or simply click on Membership Application for a printable application that may be mailed or faxed.  (The application requires ADOBE ACROBAT READER, which can be down loaded for free at www.adobe.com.  Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always available to help you establish a relationship with the Credit Union and answer any questions you may have.

In accordance with section 326 of the USA Patriot Act, and to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account, the Stoneham Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.  This also includes organization documents for the opening of D/B/As (Doing Business As) and associated organization accounts.
