Important Information About Procedures
For Opening A New Account
In accordance with section 326 of the USA Patriot Act, and to
help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering
activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify,
and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, the
Stoneham Municipal Employees Federal Credit Union will ask for your name,
address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify
you. We may also ask for a copy of your driver's license or other identifying
documents. For accounts opened with the person not present at the credit union, these items must be
submitted to the credit union included with a Notary Public signature, authenticating execution of the documentation. This also includes organization documents for the opening of D/B/As
(Doing Business As) and associated organization accounts.
